Overview of Basic Matter Information
At the bottom of the left side of the Matter Details panel, there is a quick summary section that shows the main information about the selected matter. This section gives users a fast way to review important matter details without opening other tabs or searching through the full matter record.
At the top of this summary section, the matter name appears in a dropdown-style header. Below it, the connected client is displayed. The client name appears as a clickable link, which means you can open the client’s profile directly from this area and review the client’s related information.
This section also shows key matter details, such as the Matter Number, Practice Area, Matter Pipeline, and Open Date. These fields help identify the matter, show what type of legal work it belongs to, and indicate which workflow the matter is following.
Below the basic matter details, the section displays a financial summary. This includes values such as Balance, Discounts, Credit Notes, Expenses, Timesheets, Trusts, Payments, and Write-Offs. These amounts help users quickly understand the accounting status of the matter, including whether there are outstanding charges, payments, adjustments, trust amounts, or written-off amounts connected to the matter.
At the bottom of the section, there is an Assigned Tags area. This area allows users to add tags to the matter for better organization. You can type a tag name, choose a color, and click Add.
